Designs (Industrial)
The design means the appearance of the whole or a part of a product resulting from the features of, in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture and/or materials of the product itself and/or its ornamentation. Therefore, designs concern products mainly with aesthetically and attractively designed structure (industrial design). Modern and original industrial designs, which in addition to aesthetic reasons is often also associated with the functionality and ease of use of items, determines the commercial success of the products offered. Therefore, protection of the industrial design should be a key element of the marketing strategy of any designer or manufacturer. The right from registration of a design is granted in Poland by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, while in the territory of European Union countries it is granted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante (Spain). The right from registration of design can last for a maximum of 25 years. The scope of the right based on registration is specified in the illustration of the design. We prepare application documents for designs in accordance with formal requirements contained in national or Community law, submit the application and supervise the maintenance of the obtained right to be in force.
