Trademarks

Trademarks (brands / logos) are signs used in trade to identify products and/or services of a specific entrepreneur. The trademark also fulfills the advertising and guarantee function of the quality of the goods or services offered, for which it is designated.

A trademark can be any sign that can be represented graphically, e.g.: word, advertising slogan, drawing, combination of words and graphic elements, colors, 3D figures, as well as any designation that will distinguish the goods or services of one particular enterprise from others.

The protection right for a trademark is granted in Poland by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and in the territory of the European Union by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante (Spain). The exclusive right to trademark last without time limits, provided that fees are paid for particular protection periods.

We provide examination of marks based on national, European and international databases according to the criteria set out in applicable national, European and international law. The examination allows to assess the possible risk of registration refusal, collision with other marks and properly choose the form of the mark.
